Shaefri is an Irish-Egyptian artist, musician and songwriter, raised between London and Co. Mayo, Ireland. Her distinctive heritage forms the beating heart of every one of her songs. Arabic beats meet harmonies that hark back to summers spent in Mayo and family sing-alongs and in her hypnotic vocals, Shaefri’s contrasting sides collide.
Following the success of her EP, 'Girl', Shaefri was selected as one of the emerging Irish acts by 'Ireland Music Week' and performed at their three day festival.
The five tracks on ‘Girl’, have received widespread praise from tastemakers including the likes of Sunday Times Culture, Clash, The Line of Best Fit, DIY, Earmilk, Billboard, Irish Tatler and Hot Press, as well as receiving immense support across BBC Introducing in the UK and many Irish radio stations. Lead singles 'Girl', '23' and 'Say You'll Be There' were also featured on several of Spotifys' prestigious editorial playlists, including 'New Music Friday', 'New Pop UK', ‘Fresh Finds: Pop’, ‘A Breath of Fresh Eire’, 'Summer Holiday' and 'Easy'. Shaefri's tracks have also been synced across several shows on ITV including 'Love Island', Amazon Prime, Channel 4 and Netflix and she has worked with brands including Sephora.
Following a recent signing to Warner's 'W Songs', Shaefri has proved she is comfortable in her own identity, thriving from a period of transition, and coming armed with a fresh new sound and vision in 2023.
